The League held its annual legislative briefings this week, offering two in-person sessions and a first-time webinar to help cities reduce travel time and costs.
Wednesday kicked off the first day of legislative briefings in Sacramento in the League’s newly dedicated Bud Carpenter Conference Room. Later that day, the League’s lobbyists provided the same program through a webinar with more than 100 participants across the state. On Thursday, the League’s lobbyists held the second in-person briefing in Anaheim.
The agenda focused on a general overview of the 2009 legislative session, a budget overview and updates from the League’s issue areas, followed by a Q & A session with the League’s lobbyists.
Participants in the three briefings were given a copy of the League’s 2009 Legislative Report which is a compilation of new laws passed in the 2009 legislative session. Hard copies of the publication will be available for $10 for city officials and $20 for non-city officials. It will also be posted on the League’s Web site beginning Dec. 1.
