The League’s City Manager department is now accepting nominations for the 2010 John H. Nail Memorial Award and the Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities. Nominate a colleague or city manager that has gone above and beyond the call of duty or promoted the advancement of diversity within their community.
The John H. Nail Memorial Award was created by the League’s City Managers department in honor and memory of a highly regarded city manager and individual. This award recognizes administrative professionals in local government who are serving as municipal assistants (regardless of position or title) and have contributed significantly to their communities.
The Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities was also established by the League’s City Managers department and recognizes a city manager or assistant city manager who has been successful in promoting the advancement of diversity within the community and the workplace through the development and implementation of effective programs, policies and/or practices encouraging diversity.
Nomination applications for the 2010 John H. Nail Memorial Award and the 2010 Award for the Advancement of Diverse Communities are available on the League's City Managers department Web page, under “Department Quick Links”.
The application deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. Applications should be sent to the following address:
